About the Author
Susan Britt-Gallagher grew up in the northeast of the USA. After completing her education, she travelled across North America, Europe and northern Africa. Thousands of bus, train and cargo-ship miles later, she settled down in Switzerland. From November 1997 to January 1998, Sue, her husband and their young daughters spent three amazing months 'living' on St. Helena. That's when Sue fell in love with the people and the island of St Helena, and the first edition of the Bradt guide was born.
Tricia Hayne is an experienced guidebook author and a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers. As editorial director of Bradt Travel Guides until 2006, she was responsible for commissioning the first edition of their guide to St Helena, Ascension & Tristan da Cunha, starting a long fascination with the islands. She is particularly interested in hiking and watersports, including diving. Her articles have appeared in publications ranging from the Independent on Sunday to Travel Africa.
