Review:

Thomas and his Mum must go shopping. Its Dads birthday so his favourite seed cake is to be baked. Natural ingredients are bought and collected for a celebration tea-party from a real bakery and at Thomas grandparents home before they return home to prepare and cook food for the special tea. The rich and lively illustrations are an integral part of the story, and there is a great deal to look at: kitchen utensils and baby bottles at home, loaves and cup-cakes at the bakers, fresh vegetables, free-range eggs and wholesome honey at the grandparents cosy cottage and garden . . . not forgetting Cadi the cat poking her nose into the shopping bag! Wheres my fish? she wonders. The final page shows the rewards of all the hard work a warm, happy scene of Dad enjoying his birthday party (with the right seeds in the cake), as well as Cadi tucking into some delicious tuna! This is another story in the increasingly popular Cadi series of picture books.
