Now in his eighty-third year, Ted Leggatt continues to lead a fully active life. Educated through the elementary and grammar school system, he has been a life-long student. After a close call from incendiary bombs and being under the debris from high explosives at Saint Luke's College Exeter, Ted spent the war years at the Royal Aircraft Establishment. This entailed the design and installation of radar equipment to high speed rescue craft and gliders. Leaving in 1945, Ted began teaching in a 'senior' school. Through Liverpool, Manchester and London Universities, he graduated in research degrees Master in Education and Doctor of Philosophy in 1979. As well as his Teaching Certificate, which includes Distinction in Physical Education, he also holds two Diplomas in Education, one at Advanced Level, Religious Knowledge, School Health and Hygiene and Associate in Music and Licentiate of Trinity College of Music London. After 'stress' retirement at fifty-eight from his fourth headship at a junior school of 760 pupils, Ted spent seven years as a successful publisher's educational representative in southeast England. He left this to train as a Therapeutic Masseur and simultaneously trained by the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, he became a complementary therapist. Amongst his leisure pursuits, Ted lists: having built two boats, sailing, foreign travel from before the arrival of package holidays and caravanning abroad and in Britain. He enjoys, even to date, building house extensions and allied DIY activities such as plumbing, installing electrical fittings and garden structural developments. Doctor Leggatt is currently healing at the Cardiff Healing Centre ('The Heath') and is in his eighth year at the world-renowned Bristol Cancer Help Centre. He visits clients and receives them at his home. He is sent patients who have used the NFSH Referral Line.
