AA Milne was born in London and lived from 1882-1956.He was the successful author of plays and books for children and adults, and is best known for his Christopher Robin stories - Winnie-the-Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner, When We Were Very Young and Now We are Six.From School Library Journal:
Grade 1-4-This excellent dramatization of some of Milne's favorite stories from The House at Pooh Corner is problematic for American ears because of the strong British accents of the actors and the actor's adult voices. In addition to the title story, there are three others: "In Which Rabbit Has a Busy Day," "In Which Tigger Is Unbounced," and "In Which Piglet Does a Very Grand Thing." The renditions are very close to the original written versions, and are performed expressively, using a narrator to read the descriptions. The main problem is the use of adult, mostly male actors for the parts. The juxtaposition of the child-like naivete of the characters and the deep voices of the actors prohibits full immersion into the stories, while the strong British accents will make younger children strain for meaning.
