Robert J. Gemmett is an English Professor in State University New York, Brockport. An acclaimed expert on William Beckford and his works, his numerous publications include The Consummate Collector: William Beckford's Letters to His Bookseller and Beckford's Fonthill: The Rise of a Romantic Icon.
