About the Author:

Martin Munro is a lecturer in French & Francophone Studies at the Florida State University. His previous books include Shaping and Reshaping the Caribbean: the Work of Aimé Césaire and René Depestre (ISBN: 1902653297) and Rebel Muses: Haiti, History Culture 1804-2004 co-edited, (Kingston, Jamaica: University of the West Indies Press, 2006).

Review:

"The most sophisticated and up-to-date study of contemporary and recent Haitian literature... [Munro's] theoretical insights are matched by his excellent close readings of the major authors. Munro's book should make a significant contribution to postcolonial theory."-- Professor A. James Arnold, University of Virginia
