From the Author:
Based upon a year of extensive research of the on-line Official Academy Awards Database and the published works of well-respected film critics such as Emanuel Levy, Edward Jay Epstein, Robert Osborne, and a multitude of other film authors, I gleaned the fields of the Oscar competition and discovered several clandestine trends that are bound to help filmmakers successfully posture their motion picture to be a serious competitor for an Academy Award nomination. To retain relevance for current filmmakers, the period of time for my research was from 1997 to 2004 -- commensurate with the release of the landmark film Titanic with its unprecedented 14 Academy Award nominations and 11 Oscar wins. I hope that the winning trends of Academy Award winners identified in this book will be a valuable source of information for present and future filmmakers.
