In the year three thousand, mankind lives among aliens, in a Federation of United Planets. Inspired by Superman's legacy, the UP is protected by a horde of teenagers - the Legion of Super-Heroes! Now, as the Final Crisis rages on Earth, the Legion faces its gravest threat ever: an alliance of all the villains they have ever faced, brought together by the Time Trapper! Brainiac 5, the Legion's thinker, has a plan: to unite the Legions of three universes, lead by the Man of Steel himself! But can even they defeat the insane Superboy-Prime? Fan-favourite Geoff Johns ("Infinite Crisis") and legendary artist George Perez ("Crisis on Infinite Earths") present a mind-blowing tale of the Legion, tying in to "Final Crisis!"

Geoff Johns has written scores of comics including Infinite Crisis, 52, Green Lantern, Teen Titans, X-Men, The Avengers, The Flash, JSA and Superman. George Perez is a legend in comics, and has worked on Wonder Woman, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Action Comics, Superman, Justice League of America and more. From Booklist:
DC’s recent company-wide crossover Final Crisis generated various series, most of them dispensable. This one’s a notch better. In the thirty-first century, Superman and the Legion of Super Heroes team up with two other parallel-universe versions of the Legion (the results of the company’s inconsistent narrative continuity over the decades) to battle Superboy-Prime (a parallel-universe Superman), the Legion of Super Villains, and the Time Trapper. If this sounds exhaustingly complicated and bordering on incomprehensible, it is. Parallel-universe sagas are labyrinthine enough without dragging in the paradoxes inherent to time travel. In light of its boggling complexities, the arc is fortunate to have George Pérez on board as illustrator. Known for his ability to handle vast casts of superheroes in such titles as The New Teen Titans and Crisis on Infinite Earths, the superstar artist brings a welcome clarity to the proceedings. Hard-core DC fans should be able to keep up with the convoluted goings-on, and the rest can just luxuriate in Pérez’s elegantly elaborate visuals. --Gordon Flagg
