The Complete Martial Arts -- Paul Compton -- c1989 -- 1992 Imprint -- Printed and Bound in Slovenia -- as shown

In about 200 pages, Crompton attempts to explain over 26 different martial arts traditions. Tae Kwon Do, which spans over 1400 years, receives a mere 13 pages. Graphic color photos dominate the text, which, while well written, provides only a cursory, superficial treatment of the subject. Though not for anyone wanting to begin the rigorous process of martial arts training, this book might prove useful to those needing a quick explanation of martial arts traditions. For in-depth treatment refer to books like Duk Sung Son's Korean Karate: The Art of Karate (Prentice-Hall, 1968). Only for exhaustive collections.
