Synopsis
Many types of air, water, or other fluids which are of technical interest occur at Large Reynolds numbers. The most important of these are flows around airplanes, ships, turbines, and reentering space vehicles. This book describes state-of-the-art methods used for the calculation of flows at large Reynolds Numbers; inviscid flow methods; boundary layer methods; viscous-inviscid interaction methods and Navier-Stokes equation methods.
In large regions fluids can be considered as inviscid, while the influence of viscosity is confined to thin layers. To calculate these flows different numerical procedures have been developed and in this book leading experts present the most recent advances giving numerical examples with comparisons of experimental data and results.
