Bello Civili Book II, Sallust's De Bello Jugurthino, Livy Books II and
V, and three short extracts from Cicero -- Pro Milone, De Amicitia and
a letter to Atticus. All are chosen for the intrinsic interest of their
content and ease of narrative.
