About the Author
This was Paul Adair's first and only full-length book, published shortly before he died. He had produced many training films and related materials in his professional life, including one on this significant event.
Review
This book describes Soviet destruction of German Army group centre. It provides reader with some bacground on Soviet and German militaries and their command sistem but that doesn't distract from main thing. While most of the book is description of actions it details some things with first hand memories and unit diaries from both sides. What I find specially praiseworthy is that it doesn't portrait Soviets as some barbarians. It states that Soviets didn't always abide to rules of war and executed and tortured captured Germans. But where many books would portrait Germans as poor victims this book just states the facts. Only bad thing is it's lenght. With history and appendicies there isn't much room for actual subject. But good read anyway. I would recomend it as adition to other books that cover wider subject but lack details. --Luka Novak
