From School Library Journal

Grade 3-6?This book leads readers through projects in which models or art representations of human-body parts are made, e.g., a cardboard skull and a gigantic Styrofoam tongue with colored thumbtack taste buds. The introduction states that "you will be making life-size models of all the body's main systems," but the reproductive system is not represented. The constructions look tedious, and children may become frustrated in trying to make their projects look like those in the book. Students won't learn much about the human body from these activities as they do not provide the details that are available in good anatomy coloring books, plastic models of the body, and books with transparent overlays. There are several good hands-on activities here, but they are overshadowed by the model making. Overall, the book looks like a lot of bad science-fair projects.?Carolyn Angus, The Claremont Graduate School, CA
