About the Author

Barry Mason is the Director of The Institute of Family Therapy in London. He has been involved in the training of family therapists and systemic practitioners since the early 1980s. He chairs the advanced training in supervision at the Institute, and co-chairs the doctoral programme. He is also involved in developing clinical, training and research aspects of a relational approach to the management of chronic pain.

'This book, which comprises contributions from many well-known authors, takes an important step in the field of family therapy towards linking many fruitful approaches. Sheila McNamee (2004) recently suggested that we have reached the point when we should be promiscuous rather than remaining faithful to one pure approach.
