Perhaps as a reaction against the growing popularity of digital photography, many traditional photographic processes are enjoying a revial. Toning and handcoloring are two such classic techniques. From sepia and blue to gold, copper, and green -- plus numerous combinations of these -- toning agents can enrich black-and-white prints and make them more unque, while handcoloring with watercolors or photo oils and pencils can imbue photographs with a personal, nostalgic feeling. Illustrated throughout with the author's striking images, suitable for photographers of any level, and packed with useful tips and creative ideas, this beautiful book contains all the information and step-by-step instructions readers need to successfully tone and handcolor their images.
