As much as he loves his cat Elsie, Stanley sometimes wonders if a tiger might not be a better pet. Sure, tigers and cats have a lot in common--but his pet Elsie likes to sleep a lot. And she doesn't always come when called. And she's scared of even the littlest dog. Tigers can't be scared of anything! And with their excellent hearing, they would always come when called. And they're a lot more exciting than cats. On the other hand, tigers wouldn't be content with canned food, they need a jungle to play in, and they don't purr--they roar.
Stanley's internal debate over the pros and cons of tigers and cats makes for yet another hilarious picture book by the creator of Shark-Mad Stanley. In addition, young readers will pick up some useful and fascinating information about their fine feline friends along the way. Griff (a.k.a. Andrew Griffin) creates wonderfully appealing computer-generated illustrations of solemn, squarish-headed Stanley and his angular cat.
