Mackenzie, a British graphic designer and desktop publisher by trade and woodworker by avocation, details 20 small projects using space that might otherwise be wasted. These projects will be welcome in a small apartment and in larger accommodations will provide interesting accents. The first six chapters detail the concerns of all woodworkers: tools, finishes, and safety issues. The rest of the book groups projects by area of suggested use. Each area has three to six projects, and each project has two basic designs, one "fancier" than the other. Mackenzie's difficulty levels and time estimates seem reasonable, and his acknowledgment of budget constraints is commendable. The illustrations are profuse, well presented, and closely related to the text, and the book design is inviting and encouraging. A very strong effort that deserves a place on all woodworking collection shelves.AAlexander Hartmann, INFOPHILE, Williamsport, PA
