Reviews

Intarsia, an artistic version of the common jigsaw puzzle, is popular with woodworkers because it lends itself to bold contemporary designs. Wood pieces are cut out with a scrollsaw, painted in contrasting colors or left as natural wood, and glued together on a plain backing. These projects by an artist and producer of craft kits include several gameboards, decorative wall plaques, and free-standing three-dimensional figures. Working patterns to be enlarged by photocopy are included for each project. A good selection for public library crafts collections.
