Synopsis
The success of the first edition of this book and its subsequent reprint has demonstrated the demand and created the opportunity for a new, enlarged edition. A great deal of the new content directly reflects the interest expressed by the media in their requests for articles, radio and TV interviews following the original publication. Particular interest has been generated in garden tools and accessory items, terracotta wares, cast-iron containers, garden furniture and all manner of related novelties. Clearly there is an enthusiasm to know more about the everyday garden related items which are likely to have been made in the last hundred years or so. Perhaps less accessible but certainly of current interest is the desire for 'antique' garden structures. This is evident from the number of garden make-over programmes introducing the concept of incorporating pergolas, gazebos, arbours and summer houses. The book will include over 100 new colour illustrations and additional black and white material in
