9781873394458: The Modern Plasterer: Volumes I and II

In 1999, William Millar's Plastering Plain and Decorative was re-published in response to the shortage of material on traditional plastering techniques. This has encouraged the re-publication of Verrall's work on the subject.

About the Author:

Verrall taught plastering at the North London Polytechnic and was committed throughout his life to the continuing education of plasterers. He wrote a number of smaller books on the subject, but The Modern Plasterer remains as his seminal work.

Review:

This is unquestionably a wonderful book... a milestone work of humbling significance and continuing practical value. Journal of Architectural Conservation A veritable mine of information... this book is essential and I suggest getting two copies, one to keep clean and indoors for browsing, research or interest - the other, and this is where it will surely end up, as a workshop manual to help in practice, pricing and experimenting. Buy this book. Conservation News The book is a feast of information on the subject proclaimed by its title, and required reading for architects and restoration plasterers.
