Marpa was a Tibetan who risked his life three times to go to India and receive and practice the profound Buddhist teachings from the great yogi Naropa. This book tells this story of how he went and received these teachings and brought them back to Tibet where he achieved enlightenment while being a father to eight children and running a farm. Soon afterwards the Moslem invasion of India began and all of these teachings were destroyed and lost in India.

About the Author:
Thrangu Rinpoche is the foremost scholar of the Karma Kagyu lineage and only member to hold the highest Khenchen degree. Because of his great realization and well as scholarship he was asked by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to become a tutor to His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa who heads the Karma Kagyu lineage.
