Mieko Han was born and educated through college in Tokyo, Japan. Mieko has a B.A. in English, an M.A. in French, and a Ph.D. in linguistics, and taught at University of Southern California for thirty-eight years as professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures. Mieko published many scholarly articles and books in phonetics, Japanese language textbooks for college and high school students, and multicultural and ESL (English as a second language) materials for children (ages 8-12).
