Synopsis
Poetry. THE CATWALK WATCH, Eric Basso's second collection of poems, transports us from the terrain vague of ACCIDENTAL MONSTERS and plants us firmly in the quicksand of a vast dystopia. Poet and reader become pilgrim, prisoner, and explorer of an undiscovered country peopled by characters whose lives are governed by ritual, fable and mystery. It is a world where a poem can be taken out and walked on a leash, a microcosmos strewn with traps, where custom and absurd necessity devour sensibility: at any moment, you can slip through the cracks and be forever lost.

About the Author
Eric Basso was born in Baltimore in 1947. His poems have appeared in the Chicago Rreview, Central Park, Oyez, Collages & Bricolages, Asylum, Bakunin and scores of other publications. His first collection of poems, Accidental Monsters, was published by Asylum Arts in 1998. His third collection, The Smoking Mirror, will appear later this year. He is the author of twenty-one plays. His drama trilogy, The Golem Triptych, was published by Asylum Arts in 1994, his novel Bartholomew Fair by Hi Jinx Press in 1998.
