A beautiful collection of vintage photographs of the old Catskills. There are images of the old Delaware & Hudson (D & H) Canal, the Ontario & Western (O & W) Railroad, the nostalgic villages such as Ellenville, Hurleyville, Liberty, Ferndale, Monticello, Mountaindale, etc. There are wonderful views of the grand hotels in the "Borscht Belt" such as Grossingers, the Concord, Pineview, Stevensville and some of the great stars who performed in them such as Bob Hope, Eddie Fischer, Neil Sedaka, Mal Z. Lawrence, Sid Caesar, and Jerry Lewis. There are photos of the old synagogues built in the 1920s by Jewish farmers.
