Short Stories. BURNING SKY is a collection of twenty-seven short stories by award-winning author Rachel Pollack. These stories -- many of which have remained almost wholly unknown until now -- reflect the author's interests in unorthodox sexuality and subjectivity of experience, as well her wry sense of humor and impressive imagination. This First edition of BURNING SKY is limited to 300 signed and numbered copies.

Book Description Cambrian Publications:, Campbell, 1998. Condition: New. 1st edition, Hardcover, SIGNED limited, New in dust jacket, This edition limited to 300 numbered copies signed by the author. These stories, for the most part anyway, appeared in relatively obscure places. Includes OUT OF THE BROOM CLOSET, UP, UP, AND AWAY, Pollack's reinterpretation of Superman's persona in psychosexual terms. I read several of Pollack's short stories a long time ago and remember being favorably impressed. I welcome this opportunity to read a number of her stories under the same cover and, like I mentioned above, I think this book is a tremendous bargain. Give Rachel a shot, she's certainly not cut of the same cloth as most contemporary science fiction writers and has something to say beyond both the science and the fiction. Political an social commentary in easy-to-swallow, very literate, fictional form. Great concept for those few who can pull it off. Seller Inventory # 26012
