PreS-Gr 3--A whimsical rhyming text describes a day in the life of Judy and her six feline friends. It's not exactly an action-filled day; but any cat fancier will recognize the pattern of waking and snuggling, snuggling and eating, then napping and snuggling some more. The operative phrase here is cat lover, for this is a book for confirmed ailurophiles. The cartoon illustrations are detailed and lively enough to complement the text's blunt simplicity. Judy and her cats are a scruffy lot, contented if a bit manic, and not sentimentalized. This slight, good-natured picture book will appeal most to children who may recognize their own pet-loving excesses reflected here.
