Review

For my taste, this tiny, elegantly crafted book giving us insights into the entrepreneurial mind set could have been longer. I would have liked information of a more detailed nature about the successful start-ups of these two millionaire authors. I wish this had been the rousing introduction to a long, fact-filled book providing juicy details of these authors' ventures. I'd like to read the sequel to this book, if it's the "inside scoop" on exactly how they got to be millionaires, the pitfalls they avoided, the snares they didn't manage to escape, and so forth. However, a detailed blow-by-blow account of their entrepreneurial successes is not what Messers Fisher and Allen set out to write. Instead, they provide insight into the actual thinking and the style of thought of the self-made millionaire. It's an inspirational read, much like an adult version of The Little Engine That Could. The authors provide a pep talk and cheerleading session that attempts to challenge readers to believe in themselves as winners, and they illustrate how to eliminate some of the "I-can't-do-it" programming that may be blocking some readers from achieving full potential. Although there is nothing new in this book, its "You-can-if-you-think-you-can" philosophy of encouragement may be just what some timid would-be capitalists need to hear. This would make a nice gift for a college graduate or for someone contemplating a career change. -- From Independent Publisher
