9781882792955: Antique Knife Rests : The History, Manufacture & Use of English, American & Continental Knife Rests in Metal, Glass & Ceramic

Dean Rockwell purchased his first antique knife rest in 1968. As his collection grew so did his realization there was little or nothing written about these fascinating artifacts. "Somebody has to learn and write about them." he said to a friend.

From that self admonishment has come this book, the first to delve into the appearance, manufacture and use of the now much sought after tools of a proper dining scene of the 1760-1920 period in the English speaking world.
