About the Author:

PHOTOGRAPHERS: Jim Roetzel is an Ohio native. Nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park inspired him to become a nature photographer. An enthusiastic bird watcher, Jim s respect for each subject is evident in his photography. He believes that the most important skills of a bird photographer are developed through an understanding of each species photographs that truly reflect a bird s character. Jim has photographed throughout the United States and Canada. His work appears in numerous publications, including Twin Lights Publishers Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Birds of North America. When not in the field, Jim teaches photography at Hudson City Schools. Jim Zipp lives in Connecticut where his life revolves around birds. When not in the field photographing or watching birds, he s at The Fat Robin Wild Bird and Nature shop, a birding shop he owns with his wife Carol. His first published photograph was of a Saw-Whet Owl in Audubon s Encyclopedia of North American Birds in 1980. Jim is represented by agencies around the world and also maintains his own image files. His award winning photographs of the natural world have been featured in publications from National Geographic, Time and Audubon to Birder s World, Wildbird, Discovery, and ABA s Birding magazine as well as numerous books and field guides.
