Leslie Rapparlie has been a part of the education and writing fields since 2001. She began as an adventure trip guide, then directed a collegiate outdoor education program. In 2007, she started instructing creative writing and composition at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
Leslie received her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Environmental Studies from Gettysburg College, a Master of Science in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from Rutgers University-Camden.
Her short stories have appeared in South Philly Fiction and The Broken Plate and she contributed an article to Teaching Adventure Education: Best Practices. Leslie has also co-authored four other texts from the Creative Company on adventure sports.
Born in Ohio, she has called many places home, including Colorado, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Virginia and New Zealand. In her spare time she practices and teaches yoga, spends time outside, skis, rock climbs and travels. She currently teaches at Montclair State University in New Jersey.
