The activities in this book are based upon the following principles: *Children need to move to the music as they learn. Children learn well through their body. *Older children need the extra challenge of mental exercises in addition to physical movement as they learn the songs. *A child needs to HEAR a song over and over again before he or she ever sings the song. *Teach the song with a variety of methods in short presentations over the course of 3 or 4 weeks rather than in one long session.
