About the Author:

Leonard David is a space journalist who has reported on space activities for more than 45 years. Winner of the National Space Club Press Award, Leonard has served as editor-in-chief of the National Space Society`s Ad Astra, Space World, and Final Frontier magazines and is a featured contributor to publications such as Space News, SPACE.com, Aerospace America, Sky and Telescope, and Aviation Week & Space Technology. He has consulted with NASA, other government agencies and the aerospace community and served as director of research for the National Commission on Space, a U.S. Congress/White House study that appraised the next 50-100 years of space exploration. In 2013, he co-authored, with Buzz Aldrin, Mission to Mars–My Vision for Space Exploration.

Scott Sacknoff began his career developing and testing next generation Space Shuttle engines before shifting to policy, finance, and commercial space assignments for NASA, DoD, private sector contractors, and the investment community. As a consultant and entrepreneur he authored the "State of the Space Industry" for many years and founded the International Space Business Council to promote commercial space opportunities. Today he serves as the publisher of the history journal, Quest: The History of Spaceflight, operates the Space Business & Commerce Archives, and manages the SPADE Defense Index, the underlying benchmark for the Powershares Aerospace & Defense ETF (NYSE: PPA).

Buzz Aldrin is an engineer and NASA astronaut who walked on the Moon during Apollo 11. He is a leading advocate for space exploration and human space missions to Mars.
