Ann Goode Cooper, the author, is the niece of William H. Bowlin. She was born, reared, and educated in Scott County, Virginia. She graduated from Steed Business College, Johnson City, Tennessee and received her B.S. Degree from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee and did graduate work through the University of Virginia.
She worked as an elementary school teacher in Sullivan County, Tennessee and Scott County, Virginia. Illness forced her to retire early and she began writing. She is the author of The Genealogy of the Family of Gardner, Mountain Remembrances, Shadows of the Past, Cookin’ From Granny's Cupboard, Diabetic Cookin' From Granny's Cupboard, and Gathering Up Memories. Zebordee's Miracle and Zebordee’s Caper are her children's books. Ann Cooper received two Education Edge Awards in 2000 for reading to 7,628 students. The Chamber of Commerce, Kingsport, Tennessee, presented the first award and Governor Don Sunquist of Tennessee presented the second award.Review:
