Bill Pollack, influential pioneer of the California sports car scene, first raced an MG at the 1950 Palm Springs event, but he is best known as the winning pilot of Tom Carsten’s famous red wheeled, Cadillac-powered, Allard J2.
This autobiography by one of the most successful West Coast motorsports racers, covers auto racing from 1949 to 1958 and California history from 1933 to 2002.
A foreword by Carroll Shelby and side-bar contributions by Phil Hill, John Fitch, William Edgar, Ruth Levy Raymond, Ginny Sims, and Mary Davis add additional perspectives to this vivid and often humorous picture of road racing in the fabulous fifties.
This book features 87 photos on coated paper for a total of 107 B&W illustrations, includes an appendix and index.
