Bound in the publisher's original red cloth, cover and spine stamped and decorated in gilt. Some markings to the cloth, but overall near fine. Signed by the author on the title page. Map photographs and illustrations throughout. Roster, appendix, bibliography, index. Dust jacket is lightly worn at the extremities, with one closed tear at the top rear edge, and one similar closed tear to the front top edge which has been discreetly repaired on the inside with tape.

About the Author:

Civil War Author/Historian — Patrick A. Schroeder was born January 1, 1968, at Fort Belvoir, VA. Patrick attended Stuarts Draft High School in Augusta County, VA. In the spring of 1990, he graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Historical Park Administration from Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, WV. He has a M.A. in Civil War History from Virginia Tech. From the summer of 1986- 1993, Patrick worked as a seasonal living history interpreter at Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. In 1993, he wrote Thirty Myths About Lee’s Surrender, which is currently in its eigth printing. The following year, Patrick married Maria Ann Dorsett. From 1994–1999, he was employed at Red Hill, the Patrick Henry National Memorial. Patrick has written and/or published fourteen Civil War titles including: More Myths About Lee’s Surrender, The Confederate Cemetery At Appomattox, Civil War Soldier Life: In Camp and Battle, The Fighting Quakers, Tar Heels, A Duryee Zouave, Recollections and Reminiscences of Old Appomattox County and Its People, We Came To Fight, Campaigns of the 146th New York, The Bloody 85th, The Highest Praise of Gallantry & Bucktails: A Photographic History. Patrick & Maria reside in Lynchburg, VA, where they own and operate Schroeder Publications. Patrick is an independent researcher, historian, and author. Patrick is currently the Historian at Appomattox Courthouse National Historic Park, Appomattox, VA.
