Catherine Valdez was born in 1959 and wrote her first poem in 1979. Her first published work was in dedication to a priest that works with aids patients. A beautiful aids quilt was made out of her poem "What is Real Love." The quilt was featured in a national magazine and hung in the Washington Mall in 1996 along with all the other aids quilts. She has written for the state of Arizona's Mental Health Association and was honored at a luncheon for her work by Senetor John McCain's wife Cindy. She has won numerous awards and recognition for her work including ten honorable mentions and nine editors choice awards by various poetry publications.Review:
