Before becoming the Cookie Queen I was a newspaper journalist for 30 years where I used the "five Ws" to construct a good story. Each article had to include information about who, what, when, where and why.
Now I'm writing about the five Fs--food for family and friends that is fast and fabulous.
Some cookbook authors would include the sixth F....for fit. But you'll notice I don't list calories or nutrients in my recipes which is the "in" thing now since nearly everyone is health-conscious. My ancestors never gave a thought to calories and I doubt my grandmothers even knew what a nutrient was. But they raised lots of healthy kids and we don't have many heavyweights in the clan.
My philosophy about fats and calories is simple. I won't eat anything that isn't fa-bu-lous. I'd rather have a small piece of real cheesecake than a big hunk made with low-fat sour cream.
My recipes all have a full rich sensuous sinfully delicious taste. Don't mess around with them. My recipes are tried and true. And most of them are fast. I've devised plenty of shortcuts which I'll share with you.
My family and friends are the reason why I cook. And so I've chosen to feature their favorite recipes along with stories about our lives and our love of good food.
