Carefully selected from seven collections—and including a handful of poems never collected—this poetry book honors the prestigious feminist poet Alfonsina Storni by presenting some of her best work in an unparalleled English translation. This bilingual edition maintains the original poems in Spanish alongside the new translations and represents over 20 years of work by one of the most significant contributors to Latin American poetry in the 20th century. The nearly 80 poems include the poet's very last, "I'm Going to Sleep," which was written just before her suicide after battling cancer.

"I am glad to see Orlando Ricardo Menes's translations of Alfonsina Storni. He captures the essence of Storni's poetry in clear, precise English that will surely bring a new crop of readers to one of the most important and neglected poets of Spanish America." —Pablo Medina, poet and professor, University of Nevada
