Bioengineering offers many opportunities for forestry. Steven H. Strauss is a professor of molecular and cellular biology and genetics in the Department of Forestry and the director of the Tree Genetic Engineering Research Cooperative at Oregon State University. H.D. Bradshaw is a professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Washington. Among the journals in which his research has appeared are Tree Physiology, Nature Biotechnology, Theoretical and Applied Genetics, and Phytopathy.
