Dr. Michael McGough's career in public education includes fifteen years as a social studies teacher and twelve years as a school administrator. He is currently a central office administrator. Dr. McGough has served as an adjunct professor of education and political science at four different colleges. He has written several books and numerous articles on a variety of topics. In addition to Hey, Mr. McRay, he is the author of three other long-running newspaper columns: "Through Uncle Sam's Window," an American history column; "Something to Think About," a general interest column focusing on the lessons of daily life; and "If I Were You," a personal advice column. Dr. McGough is married, the father of two grown children, and currently resides in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Since 1976, he has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide with the National Parks Service in Gettysburg.
