Review:

Walter was to publish this work in the 1950's with Sheldon and Penny Whimsey. His involvement in other fields prohibited it. He again made the effort individually in the mid 1960's but shelved it for other and better paying projects. Writen by Vogel in 1993-4 as a complete reference to acompany and superceed the magnum opus Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of U.S. & Colonial Coins, 754 pages. This will be Breen's only surviving work on the Cent 1816-1857 ever to be published, it is in limited quantities, hurry. Valuable information on known counterfeits, used by the Denver Branch Mint employees for authentication and correspondance to the public. -- From the Publisher
