William A. Howatt, Ph.D., has been working with adolescents for the past fourteen years. Based on Bill's earlier years, and his difficulties of being a youth with several labels attached to him, he has devoted the last several years and his doctoral dissertation to looking at ways to help teachers to be more effective in addressing classroom management concerns. Bill is a counsellor in private practice, and a consultant and workshop trainer to educators and counselors.Review:
Bill is on to something important here. His personal experience in education, which is diverse and considerable, makes the academic research real and relevant for the classroom teacher. -- Marcus Waddington, M.Ed., Elementary School Teacher
I have been searching for this book for at least five years. I have tried a number of these interventions and methods on a random and intuitive basis for a number of years, but have been unable to sustain or coordinate them. This book, and Bill's workshop, give me the theory, rationale and tools to develop the kind of environment I want to work in, and have students want to be in. -- Ed Shutt, M.Ed., High School Teacher
I have enjoyed reading such relevant directives from this book. I am able to relate personal experiences that are clarified by the text. I can use this resource over and over again. -- Penelope McGuigan, M.Ed., Dip. Sp.Ed., High School Teacher
