Glen Sorestad was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1937 and moved to Saskatchewan in 1947. He completed his B.Ed. and M.Ed. at the University of Saskatchewan, teaching until 1981 when he decided to devote his time to his writing career. Since 1975 he has since been an active member of the Saskatchewan Writers Guild and was given a Founder's Award by the Guild in 1990. He was the co-founder of Thistledown Press. He is an active member of the Writers Union of Canada and the League of Canadian Poets, serving for five years on the executive of the latter.
