Bruno St-Aubin has been illustrated children's books and albums since 1989.From School Library Journal:
Kindergarten-Grade 1-Although labeled "I Learn to Read," the text in this French translation contains words that beginning readers will neither recognize nor be able to sound out such as "weird," "stomps," and "scrubbing." The story involves two boys describing the dinosaurlike behavior of their father, who is alternately amusing and alarming. When he takes his sons sliding down a hill, "It's so cool!" But his bedtime stories result in "bad dreams all night long- Daddy likes to scare me." The colorful illustrations show him changing into a large, green dinosaur but whether he really does or it is the boys' imaginations, is left for readers to decide. The final page features a picture of a winking dad in human form-except for two big, green feet. The message that even though he's sometimes wild, embarrassing, or frightening, "We love our dinosaur Daddy!" is a bit disconcerting. More successful beginning readers abound.
