Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Thaddeus Holownia ( (illustrator). Limited Edition. Stiff well-perserved book in paper covered gray boards with wide brown cloth spine; about new but for faintest rubbing of the spine title; in the illustrated slipcase with touches of shelfwear. 1/500; 10.5 x 18.5; 80 pages; This award winning book includes 31 full-size stochastic duotone reproductions of Holowniaâs original 7 Ã 17" contact prints of landscapes from Gros Morne National Park and Newfoundlandâs Northern Peninsula/Great Northern Peninsula. These are paired with 30 poems by Sanger, who drew from his experiences in the region. Critics praise Holowniaâs âminutely textured, almost eideticâ (vividly detailed) landscape images and Sangerâs concise, weighty poems (often in two five-line stanzas) for offering fresh perspectives on place, nature, and Canadian identity.
