Oliver loves trains ... or does he? Oliver is afraid of dogs ... or is he? How do we know, when he never says anything? People assume Oliver is shy, because his chatty parents and bossy sister always talk for him. When he starts prekindergarten and is asked what he would like to do, at first the words don't come out. But once he realizes that this is his big chance to speak up for himself, nothing can stop him! What does Oliver really want to say?

Author Pamela Edwards was born in Calgary, Alberta, and grew up all over the world, thanks to her father's army career. She has always had a passion for writing, publishing her first poem at age seven. She retired from her career as an elementary school teacher in 2003, and now writes full time. Pamela has had several magazine articles published; this is her first children's book. She lives in Burlington, Ontario, with her husband.Review:
What a wonderful little story. Sometimes it takes children a little while to realize that they have a voice and an opinion. This story would be an easy way to teach quiet students that they have a right to share their thoughts and feelings. I applaud the author and illustrator for making such a meaningful story for not only kids, but their families too. - Kathy Clarke, Principal, Park and Joseph Gibbons Public Schools
