About the Author:

Charles Hope studied at Balliol College, Oxford,and the Courtauld Institute where he subsequently became a Research Lecturer at Christ Church, Oxford, and then Research Fellow at King's College, Cambridge. He is now the Director of the Warburg Institute in London. He is the author of many books and articles on Titian and recently contributed to the catalogue for the Titian Exhibition at the National Gallery in London.
