This CD-ROM contains the full text and translation of the meetings of the English parliament from Edward I to Henry VII, covering the years from 1272 to 1504. All surviving records of the parliaments, including many texts never before published, are given in full, with new scholarly introductions to each parliament. The parliament rolls themselves are freshly transcribed from the original documents, while the transcripts incorporate precise information about the text in the documents (e.g., deleted and unreadable text) never before available. Over 100 specimen images show the rolls themselves, while a sophisticated search system permits retrieval of words and phrases across the whole text.

Nobody involved in any aspect of medieval research can afford to do without this publication. --HISTORY, January 2007

Represents a monumental work of scholarship. (...) Nothing should detract from the tremendous amount of work that has gone into the production of PROME. Professor Given-Wilson and his fellow editors are to be congratulated for overseeing the accurate transcription and translation of the rolls and also for their attempts to place the rolls in context. PROME is a very welcome development and one that is bound to engender more research and a better understanding of late medieval England and the formative centuries of the English Parliament. --Reviews in History

A major contribution to the history of Parliament, to medieval English history, and to the study of the English constitution. ENGLISH HISTORICAL REVIEW To serve the needs of twenty first century scholarship, Chris Given-Wilson and his team have now produced a truly monumental new edition. Parliamentary historians owe a debt of gratitude to Professor Given-Wilson and his team of scholars for undertaking this Herculean labour, and making this vital source readily accessible to a broad public in a modern, generally user-friendly and - above all - portable form.
