About the Author:

Brendan Lynch is a former racing cyclist, driver and Grand Prix reporter. He has written five books including the award-winning Green Dust and Parson's Bookshop, and has contributed to over seventy media outlets worldwide, from The Irish Times to The Observer, The Times and The European. Keenly interested in Irish writers, his features encouraged the establishment of the George Bernard Shaw Museum and the James Joyce Cultural Centre.

Review:

Love for the locality and the mad collection of intellectuals, chancers and hangers on that assembled there once, and still assemble there now, animates every page of this deeply affectionate, brilliant and brilliantly gossipy book. --Irish Voice

Supports growth in Irish studies by extending understanding of the spaces and relationship s that fueled Dublin's artistic dynamism throughout the twentieth century. --Irish Literary Supplement
