An unusual life followed by Mitchell - an all-round sportsman but for whom cricket held the greatest interest despite an early rugby union cap, as captain, for England, cricket captain of Cambridge, chosen by Lord Hawke to play for Yorkshire, a tourist to South Africa with the representative matches on the tour elevated later to Test status, later captain of the South African team in England when working for the notable Abe Bailey, army service during the Boer War, later involvement in the 1912 Triangular series, business in Nigeria, journalism and further army service - excellently covered by Anthony Bradbury who has SIGNED the book on the title page with a short message, dated Feb 2014, as a gift, with thanks, to the late Roger Mann.
